Hey All,

My name is Marcus and I founded Heartland Roofing in 2015. I like to think the story of how I got in the roofing business is an interesting one, but it's probably a little long for a bio. However, here is a quick story of the first roof I was ever involved in.

When I was around 5, my parents decided to roof our house by themselves. Both my mother and father were ln the roof working, and my 3 brothers and I were outside playing. We kept bothering them with tasks like, "can you help me tie my shoe", and they would have to come down and take care of us. I like to remember this story for a lot of reasons, one of them being how things at the moment can be frustrating but hilarious down the road.

As for now, I spend most of my time working and raising my 9 year old son (can't believe he is 9, anybody have a machine to stop time!). My favorite hobby is golf, bud sadly, I hardly ever get to play!

Heartland Roofing was founded in 2015. I roofed a little in high school and then for a couple of summers in college. Before starting my company, I worked for 7 other roofing companies.

Each company always promised more than they delivered. This was very frustrating to me, as I was the one looking customers in the eye and promising things that were not being delivered. Mistakes happen, and as much as I still promise customers every thing will be great, roofing is heavy construction and things can and do go wrong.

The main difference is now I am able to accept accountability and make things right, rather than just embarrassingly telling customers "there is nothing I can do, my manager says to call him."

Owning the company I can make the appropriate steps to make sure mistakes are limited, any problems that arise are fixed, and the customer gets the high quality roof they deserve!
